Our Project is called #sourcecode. It was a mixture of coding and genetics. To start off this project we began with learning how to code. Yes, I mean the type of coding where you picture a whole bunch of people sitting in a cubicle, eyes glued to the screen, with the tiny pattering of fingers against a keyboard at about a rate of 30 taps per second. Well, it was sort of like that. A class full of kids all gathered around their computers, typing in codes, ordering the computer to do something within the program. After we began to learn on codecademy.com, we started learning about genetics and we covered multiple situations of coding and how to make punnet squares and such. All together, we put all of our knowledge of the past few weeks to begin our #sourcecode project. A group of 4-5 people, all assigned a star wars character name, had a specific role in the project yet we all worked together in some way. I was lucky enough to have a great group with the name of Boba Fett, who would constantly ask me if they could help me with anything, seeing that many changes were made throughout the project. There were many deadlines that I had to meet and I tried to stay on top of it while at the same time working on codecademy. At exhibition, our info graphics, code art and code were all presented in a gala-like way. It all looked really nice, and if you were there, I hope you enjoyed it all.
